At All Star Restoration, all of our technicians are IICRC-certified professionals. They have the training and experience to identify moisture sources, evaluate mold growth (visible or suspected), contain damage, remove contamination and dry materials to ensure that mold will not return.
Water Damage

Water damage can be deceptive. Water penetrates into structural cavities creating trapped pockets of saturation. Sometimes the detection of water in these areas are only discovered with sophisticated moisture detection meters. Undetected moisture will continue to cause damage. This damage, at a minimum, will cause odors.
Greater damage will surface when materials delaminate, shrink, split, and further deteriorate to the point that costly are required.

Immediate water damage mitigation and structural drying is much safer, easier, and less expensive than repair and replacement. If needed, we may be able to provide financing. Furthermore, if you have had a sump pump failure or sewage backflow you may be required to have an additional rider on your policy for coverage. We can call and check for coverage if you wish.
Within Minutes
Within Hours
Within Days
Within Weeks
- Water contamination spreads to additional areas, rapidly increasing your claim cost.
- Stains released from furniture (especially antiques) stain carpet permanently.
- Moisture sensitive furniture finish turns white.
- Paper goods are ruined due to moisture absorptions with swelling and warping.
- Latent animal urine odor becomes apparent.
Within Hours
- Furniture in direct contact with water delaminates or swells, legs begin to split.
- Swelling wood can cause finish to crack.
- Sheetrock (drywall, gypsum board) swells and begins to disintegrate.
- Bacteria’s sour odor and sewage contaminants begin to go airborne and into air returns.
- Metal surfaces start to tarnish.
Within Days
- Fungi (mold with its musty odor) appear. Replacement may now be necessary instead of restoration.
- Persons with asthma, the infirm, elderly and young children may develop reactions to the mold
- Severe warping of wood furniture becomes apparent; adhesive release causes de-lamination.
- Hygroscopic internal components in pianos and organs swell from moisture adsorption.
- Metal surfaces rust, pit, and corrode causing permanent damage.
- Paint blisters, plaster dissolves, wall-covering adhesives begin to release.
- Wood (doors, window casings, decking, joists, studs) begins to swell, warp, split, and delaminate.
Within Weeks
- Adults may become sensitive to allergens arising from uncontrolled microorganism growth.
- Prolonged dampness causes mold to sink roots into and destroy materials like jute backings, paper covering on sheetrock, paneling, wood, contents.
- Wood components warp and split, while chemicals within wood dissolve, discolor and /or destroy finishes.
- Claim costs and renovation time escalates dramatically as the requirement for gutting the structure and replacing components becomes necessary.
- Due to biological health hazards, occupants could be evacuated.
